Guest Design for Swirlydoos!

Swirlydoos Guest Design

I am so lucky and so honoured to be the guest for November at Swirlydoos!
'
This LO I made out of their amazing kit for November, "Antique Linen". The white Prima flower is from their "signature" add-on kit.

Due to the slow postal services, I have not managed to do more then this single layout yet. But, I'm really looking forward to have a lot of fun with the rest of this beautiful kit the next few days, so I promise there will be a few more layouts in the next days.

Here I used a Hambly overlay as a main background, and added splashes of Glimmer Mist (Black Gold) to add some "shadow" and effects on it. I also added a Prima white Lace and a few Melissa Frances Applique embellishes to the kit that I used on this layout.

This layout are based on the beautiful sketch for the month, designed by Beggahuna.

Thank you so much Swirlydoos for this great opportunity, I really appreciate to be your guest this month! And thank you to you all for dropping by, wish you all a fab. week! *hugs*

A new Prima layout with some amazing flowers!

H2O FUN

This is my latest LO made with Prima products, and I used my favourite flowers released from Prima this year; Mini Lilies and Painted Ladies! Well, I know that I’m not good in English at all, and I’m not even going to try to find a word that can cover how much I love those flowers!!! Just look at them yourself and see!

The picture is of my daughter from last summer, where she is playing in water in a little plastic pool with bucket and spade.

The yellow bird is a vintage paper die-cut, and I created a stem it could sit on with a piece of a lime cord.
The bricks in the background I created out of a Prima back packaging for ribbons. I just cut out the bricks, placed them around on the white Bazzill canvas background, and then added Ranger white crackle paint to the edges of the bricks and around on the paper, before I used some Tattered Angels (Turquoise)Glimmer Mist on.
I also added a green Prima back packaging under the main photo to embellish the layout.

This time I chose to sew on a lace on all the four outer paper edges, but then only added strips of Prima pattern paper on two of them, on top of the lace.

Thank you for dropping by everyone, and I wish you all a great day! ;-)

Halloween "Trick or Treat" projects

Very easy "Trick or Treat" Prima packaging projects.

This time I created some very EASY and fun projects just in time for Halloween! I made these projects to show how you very easily can re-use a lot of Prima packaging for Halloween. This is fun to make, and it's environmentally friendly too!

The black treat bag is created out of Prima's NEW Hydrangea flower bags! (533458) I colored the green packaging area with a black Ranger dabber. And I just draw the "owl" on top with white paint.. A Prima "T" sticker tag (830137) is added to the front with "treats" written with Ranger black Stickles glue. I added a green ribbon on the top so you can carry it with you as a little bag.

The adorable glass bottle with candy is a Prima flower bottle with the metal tag already attached (you can use Got Flower bottles too.) I created the "pumpkin" on top by painting the cap with orange acrylic paint and adding a green stem from covered wire (you can also snip off the stem from one of Prima's new vines and use that (533687).) Fill with candy or other decorative pieces.

Here I used Prima's Sprites flower containers (534172) to hold the yummy black licorice candy, while decorating the outside with Prima papers ("boo" and cut-out bats), crystals, felt frames, clear tape (811037) and a sultan center! The white ghost is simple to make too...just draw a ghost with an applique pen...then heat it up for the bubbly effect.

Prima's new stamp packages are absolutely perfect for re-purposing! (534509) Here I painted the top of each green cardstock package with Ranger orange crackle paint ...then I used a Prima stamp (Crenee) on top of the paint. Then I cut the top off of the plastic bags to make them shorter (these are the plastic bags from the stamp packaging.) After filling the plastic bags with candy I stitched each one to a green package...covered the seam with ribbon and added a Dymo label to the front! This would be a GREAT project to make if you have a lot of treats to hand out...just save up your Prima packaging!

For these treat bags I used Prima's Center Kiss packaging (524722). I used Prima's "Little Boo" Halloween paper line (860165, 860196, ) to cover the top of the package..(.to add a decorative edge use a Fiskars edge punch. Cut out the hang-tab hole with a scissors.) I stitched the paper on for a fun touch, but you could just use adhesive too. Slip the altered package back in it's original bag and add candy. Staple a fun ribbon to the top and you are DONE! Sooo easy to make! :-)

Thank you so much for dropping by, and I hope you could find some inspiration for how you can re-use your Prima packaging ;-) Wish you a great week! *hugs!

It's time for a Prima fall layout

You Really Glow in the Colors of Fall
,
This time I created a fall layout with pics of my daughter from last fall. This one I really made in a short time, hope that dosn't show too well ;-)

I used tons of Prima products, and I actually choosed a pattern paper that really dosn't look like to fit on a fall layout at all in first place, but with some extra techniques and embellish, it's fun to see how things can work out together after all.

One tip here; if you have two totally different colors that dosn't fit well together in the first place, add in the colors that goes in between those two and let them lead the different colors together ;-)

.Here are my close-ups for this time, just click on the images for larger views;

Prima "Paradise City"#840792 paper that I used.

Happy Birthday Pencil Lines!

Happy Birthday Pencil Lines!

Pencil Lines are celebrating 3 years online, and are having this amazing weekend over in their blog. Please make sure to drop by and check out everything that's going on over there!

And I'm so honored to be one of their guest this weekend, and I have created this LO and a sketch that can be seen here. I would LOVE to see your work based on my sketch, so please drop by Pencil Line and check it out! ;-)

The amazing papers I used on this LO is from Onirie, I just love their designs!

This time I tried out a sheet of Claudine Helmut Studio Canvas with sticky back. I used it as "photopaper" and printed a photo background directly on it before I sticked it on a white cardstock (like this I created my own pattern paper that matched the theme and photo). Then I stamped on it with clearstamps from Inkadinkadoo to add the streetlight/lanterns in black. Then I added the photo on that shows my daughter that is learning to walk with her father. I choosed to embellish the picture on the canvas with mulberry roses, and glued them direcly on where I felt it looked most natural and "3D". The beautiful butterflies are die-cuts from Onirie's pattern papers that I used. I also added Prima letters (Whispered Words) and Melissa Frances white "Applique" embellish.

The great online store TreL.no has Onirie papers in Norway, and I got most of my products on this layout from them. They have a lot of great stuff, so if you live in Norway, please be sure to drop by them and check out their great online store!

Here are my close-ups for this time, please just click on them for larger views.

Thank you for dropping by everyone!
And again, huge congrats to Pencil Lines; - hope your amazing sketch blog will keep going strong and to inspire scrappers around the world for many many years to come!

Prima's Build-a-Page for October

It's time for a new Build-a-Page from Prima, it's sketch-time! ;-)
Once again the very talanted Prima Flower girl Anam have came up with an amazing sketch that you can see at Primas blog here together with more information and a lot of other great layouts made from Prima's DT.

The sketch was so fun to play with, I really loved it! And the whole DT tried to use the beautiful Prima paper line named "Tropics" on this sketch, just to see how different we all would make it even with the same sketch and the same paper line. But believe me, they were all so different, go check out by your self!

And now I really hope to see your layout based on this sketch, so I hope you will submit for the contest on Prima's site. Hope to see you there! ;-)

Thank you for dropping by everyone, I really appreciate your visit! Wish you all a great day! Hugs!

Cupcake Cards - step by step!

Cupcake Cards, step by step.

Anyone that would like to create these cupcake cards, but dosn't know how?

Well, first of all, these beautiful cupcakes isn't my idea at all, so I will not take any honor for that. I had seen some of them online before, and fell totally in love with them and wanted to try them out. I didn't have any tutorial in front of me, so I did my best to find a way to create them. Like this I maybe did some personal touches on them, but again, the idea isn't mine at all ;-) Thank's to a sweet reader (thank you Dolly!) I got a e-mail with a tip to a online tutorial that you can see here. After what I understand, the idea is from the very talanted Linda Albracht, so I think she's the one that shall have all the honor! ;-) Thank you Linda!!!

Anyway, since I did some personal touches and a little bit difference in the way I created it, I wanted to show you all how I made it, in case it could be for any help. So, here is my "step-by-step" ;-) Please remember to click on the images for larger views.

Step 1; First you need a polystyrene ball, here I used one that is approx. 2,5 inch wide (ca 6-7 cm). Cut the ball in the middle so you get two pieces. Then use a little tag that can fit inside the ball (if you have a tag that is too large, you can shape it to fit), and hold it over one of the parts. Add 3D glue pads on both side of the tag (not too close), so it easily can slide between. Then glue the two parts together with the glue pads.
Step 2; Take a small ball that you can cut in (I used some made out of paper that I bought in a hobby store, approx. 0,6-0,7 inch each/1,5 cm). Make a cut in the ball with a craft knife/sharp knife that is approx 1/3rd-1/2 as deep as the ball in it self.
Step 3: Cut the tag as shown on the picture, and add glue on both sites of the small part that is left of the top.
Step 4; Put the glued little part of the tag in the cut in the ball.

Step 5; Paint the little ball with red acrylic paint. Let dry.
Step 6; Paint red glitter glue over the red dried paint. I used Ranger Stickles "Xmas Red". Let dry.
Step 7; Cut pattern paper in two strips sized 4,5 cm (approx. 1,75 inch) x 30,4 cm (12 inches). Here I used Prima pattern paper, "Steel Toe" (#602178) for the baby girl, and "Pulse Collection" (#812362) for the baby boy. Then fold the whole strips like shown on the picture.
Step 8; Glue the two strips together in the ends so you get a paper cup.

Step 9; Cut a circle out af a piece of cardstock, aprrox. 6 cm/2,2-2,4 inches. Add glue to the edges of the circle and press on a lace (approx. 20cm/8 inch long) as shown on the picture to make a paper doilie.
Step 10; Add a new layer of glue over the edge of lace and cardstock, and place over the paper cup as shown on the picture. Press it down and shape it a little bit with your fingers before the glue dry.
Step 11; Add glue inside of the cup where shown on the picture.
Step 12; Quickly add the big polystyrene ball in to (not to deep, let approx. the half of the ball show above the paper edge) the paper cup before the glue dries. A.Make sure that the opening for the tag point in the right direction. B. Press the paper cup against the ball and shape it like you would like it with your fingers before the glue dries.

Step 13; Then find a soft type of textile, and cut up a strip that is 12 inch long and approx. 1 inch wide. I used a kind of white velvet. Then glue it on to the edge of papercup and polystyrene ball, "upside down", like shown on the picture. The textile strip you need to hold with the inside out, and glue the lowest edge on first.
Step 14; Then distort the textile strip so the right side of the textile is turning out again, and then glue the upper edge of it. Please do not glue it on too tight, this textile strip are suppose to look like a layer of cream and are suppose to look "fluffy". ;-) Use much textile on, it's better with too much then too little.
Step 15; Now it should look something like this.
Step 16; Then take a needle with thread trough a ribbon of your choice like shown on the picture.

Step 17; Glue the stitched ribbon on to the edge of the textile/ball like shown on the picture. You can also put the tag in to the ball now, so you can hold an eye on where the glue shall go and where it shouldn't ;-)
Step 18; Now the cupcake should looke something like this.
Step 19; Then glue on some laces to make layers of "cream and glaze". Here I used a white Prima lace (lace B, #529451)
Step 20; And on the baby boy cupcake I choosed a brown lace from Prima (#523336) to create a layer of chocolate.

Step 21; Then I chose a pink Prima lace on the baby girl one, to create a layer of raspberry/strawberry glaze. Now the cupcake should look something like this.
Step 22; Then, cut up some small pieces of the white textile again (velvet) and glue on as shown on this picture. Start with the lower edge and then turn the textile piece up and glue the upper edge. And again, do not glue this on too tight, let it be loose to look like cream.
Step 23; Like on this picture, make sure the edges for tag-hole goes clear from glue and textile, but you can glue the textile very close to the edge.
Step 24; The edge of the tag-hole can look something like this.

Step 25; Pull the tag back and forward to check that it slide easily.
Step 26; Now your cupcakes should look something like this.
Step 27; Use acrylic paint for the top layer of glaze. Here I used paint from Making Memories that is very good to work with. It dosn't drip too much, and it dries quickly. Just add it easely on like shown on the picture, directly from the bottle.
Step 28; Then, quickly before the paint dries, drop the buttons into the paint to create the small sweets on the top. When the paint dries, the buttons will hold.
Step 29; Now you can add some ribbons to your tags, just tie a bow around the thin part of the tag under the "cherry". Now you can write your personal message on the tags and put them in your cupcake.

Step 30; Now, the end result should look something like this, with your personal touch! ;-) I hope you will have fun creating, and good luck!
.
Hope you liked this "step-by-step"and if you would like to see another one from me on vintage paper edges, please just click here.
